Review of Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (1973) by Ben H — 09 Nov 2011
A film I have always put off but with the remake out with mixed reviews, thought it was time to see what demanded this more modern version. Taking into mind that this was filmed in the early 70s, I have to say I was impressed with the overall balance of photography in regards to what you don't see and what you actually see.
Don't get me wrong it is hard to see this film as a horror but as one of the original don't-do-that-and-I-won't-explain-why-until-it-is-too-late plots (thank god for the stupidity of victims) I really enjoyed this.
