I wasn't around when this was made, but from watching the re-make to watching this I can say the re-make at least had a story for the weird creatures in the film (explaining what they were) This movie left out a huge chunk of things.
Though the ending was pretty much the same as in the re-make (they both sucked). Being a horror buff that I am I can say the creatures were the only coo thing in this movie, but this film wouldn't have scared me if I was 5 years old watching it.
