Review of Donovan's Reef (1963) by Paul C — 02 Mar 2008
Lightweight comedy with John Wayne, Lee Marvin (who steals the film as i'm sure everyone will agree) and Jack Warden as Navy buddies living on a South Pacific island, whose lives are changed forever by the arrival of the latter's estranged daughter.
Sexist and racist connotations aside this is still a highly enjoyable movie, at least for me, and one I seem to find myself watching every holiday season.
