Review of Donnie Darko (2001) by Thomas B — 29 Jan 2015

This movie is beautiful. I love the soundtrack, it's so melonconic,i really believe the characters, and there isnt a flaw with this movie. this is one of my favourite movies, and one of gylenhaal's best performances he has ever portrayed in a character, he is spectacular, the cast is amazing, the tone is amazing, the cinemetography is pretty good, the special effects are a little bit cheesy and look a little bit fake, but what do you expect, this is 2001 with a lower budget.

I love the chemestry between the darko family, and I love the script. they have a nice little bit of dark humor in the movie thats actually quite funny, and then it grasps a dark, chilling tone that will make you feel very creeped out.

I have watched the theatrical cut, and the directors cut. you should watch the directors cut if you want contents of the movie spoon-fed to you, but if you wanna figure things out on your own, watch the theatrical cut, its much better.

this is a must watch for science fiction fans, gylenhaal fans, and just fans of great film. watch this when you can!
