There are movies that after you watch them you can't stop thinking about them. Donnie Darko is one of those movies. The story has been made to blown your mind. You could consider it as confusing but it is because the many ways a person can interpret it.

All the actors in this movie play excellently their characters, especially Jake Gyllenhaal, who offers one of his best performances as the main character, who is one of the most interesting ones I have seen. The Donnie Darko character is not the usual hero you see in the majority of stories. He is morally incorrect and also considered as a psycho. I mean he has visions of a creepy rabbit man.

Richard Kelly does a terrific job as the director and also as the writer. He knows how to transmit all the existencialist ideas and the movie philosophy.

Donnie Darko is an amazing film, that you should check it out if you want to watch a complex and dark story that will entertain you but also make you think and wish to know more about the movie universe. However I have to say it may be very confusing and you may have to watch some analysis articles from the movie to understand it.

Anyway, Donnie Darko is fantastic and that is why is considered as a modern masterpiece.
