Review of Donnie Brasco (1997) by Chris O — 10 Aug 2009
A very enjoyable true story, Depp brings the life of Joe Pistone to the big screen and portrays his bravery and nobility to justice. The films moves with pace, and you get sucked into the world of this mafia, its a very honest, very real movie.
Pacino is excellent as Lefty, a memorable character and up their with his best performances. The film has a nice look and feel to it, very hard edged and really sells the 70's setting. A great offering of excellent acting and great screenwriting, classic in every way.
