Review of Donkey Skin (1908) by Ewan M — 30 May 2007
A rather slender fantasy film from Jacques Demy (whose "Umbrellas of Cherbourg" is a masterpiece). This is light on the musical aspects, but has his usual flair for elaborate set design and costumes, and melodramatic storylines.
Enjoyable but not his best work.
