Review of Donkey Punch (2008) by John R — 11 Sep 2009

While nothing I would return to with any great enthusiasm, it was a passable thriller. At times I felt like it pushed purely on it's "edgy" tag, drugs and orgies taking up a lot of the first half in a pointless push for an 18's rating.

However, the ending say 40 minutes were engaging enough to save the film, with really hard hitting violence. The ending was silly and derivative, but the acting was above par for such an exploitation film and in general managed to steal liberally from much better films in this genre while putting it's own spin on it.

Grand.
