Review of Don 2 (2011) by Asif I — 14 Feb 2012
All style and no substance make Don2 a dull movie.
"All style and no substance make Don2 a dull movie",here's Don2 for you in a single sentence. The movie is a classic case of a promising start gone awry, and its all too evident as the thunderous applause at the introduction of SRK gives way to jeers and loud guffaws as the movie approaches its climax, which best described is a never ending lullaby,a snooze fest,if u will.
Apart from slickly filmed car chases, breathtaking shots of Berlin, Thailand and some witty dialogs(SRK is on a roll throughout wid those)there's nothing about Don2 that sets the pulse racing.Even the ever-reliable soundtrack of SEL is a damp squib.
Akhtar drags d flick into a self drawn predicament,as Don,the drug lord, the mafia king becomes the focal point of a caper story and its nothing that one hasn't seen before. You get the drift, with regards to the movie,as in the end the word "slick"gives way to the sentence "Cut us some slack Mr.director"...Srk is at his boisterous best as he walks away nonchalantly with his swagger and his head held high into fumes of mediocrity, that shroud Don2 throughout.
