Review of Dolphin Tale 2 (2014) by Chillindylan G — 11 Sep 2014
Watched the original Dolphin Tale for the first time last week, and this one matches it. Both of the kids from the first have grown up some, and the movie embraces that aspect of them. Harry Connick Jr, in my opinion, is a bit underrated as an actor (compared to other musicians-turned-actor).
There are certainly a few moments of sadness in this film as well as joy, but I never felt like the film went over-the-top trying to rip at my heart strings. There was a good flow to the story and, despite knowing what was going to happen in the end, I never felt bored or that the lead-up to the finale was irrelevant.
Overall, this was just as good as the first. Solid "feel good movie" that gives effort in that respect. Nothing mindblowing or unexpected, but solid from start to finish and accomplishes its mission.
Grade = 6/10.
