A captivating performance from Kathy Bates. It may be slow-paced and too drab, but Bates performance would be enough to keep you glued to the screen. David Strathairn was effective as well, playing the violent, drunkard husband to Bates.
PS: It was a surprise to see John C. Reilly in a serious role.
