Review of Dogville (2003) by Yves S — 22 Jan 2010
A superb film -- so intense, so well-acted, so well-written, that one easily forgets that there is no set! The film is shot entirely on a soundstage, with the set marked on the floor like in a rehearsal.
The audience's ability to see through walls is exploited to stage simultaneous scenes; however, the sense of realism remains palpable throughout. Utterly brilliant.
