Review of Dogville (2003) by Iris S — 16 Dec 2008
While I loved the idea of playing out an entire movie in a stage - play setting (still laughing at the 'gooseberry bushes'), I still feel like this is lacking something. Possibly the story itself is a bit unsatisfactory. Even though the residents of Dogville deserved what they got in the end (no spoilers), it still doesn't feel like it should.
Great performances all round, though. Patricia Clarkson plays the evil bitch with such conviction it's hard not to despise her.
