Review of Dogtown and Z-Boys (2002) by Kim B — 30 Oct 2010
I think I actually liked Lords of Dogtown better. Maybe if I saw this first I would've liked it better, but I already knew most of it from the other film and I thought it was more interesting not in a documentary style.
No doubt if I was a bigger skateboarder fan it would be the other way around. However, this movie focuses more on the technicalities of the sport and I was more interested in the actual skateboarders lives.
It gave more details behind the background of skateboarding than the other movie. A story about the disenfranchised kids of society and them fighting back. Sometimes it was annoying how they kept praising themselves so much, great music and photography.
