Review of Doghouse (2009) by Adam M — 01 Jan 2010
Horror comedy from Jake West who had previously treated us to the delights of B-movie classics Razor Blade Smile and Evil Aliens. In this one, a man depressed after his divorce gets together with his mates to go on a trip to a tiny village for nothing but a weekend of booze and women.
So far, so good. But when it turns out that the female population of this village are man-eating zombies the lads are soon fighting for their lives. This is a funny and gory film that horror fans should enjoy.
For Jake West to get Danny Dyer and in particular the brilliant Stephen Graham on board is great for him as his last couple of films have relied on largely unknown actors. Throw in sexy Emily Booth as a zombie ex-hairdresser and your in for a good time! Not quite as insanely brilliant as Evil Aliens but great none the less.
