Definitely an American classic but a somewhat overrated film in my opinion. Based on a true story, it seems to lack depth and the only thing of substance is that it piggy-backs on the high emotions of the Attica prison incident of the late 1970's.
Good acting by Pacino as the under prepared bank robber and some raw but slightly sloppy acting by Charles Durning, as the head hostage negotiator. Overall, a great film but to me seems kind of flat. How is this different from a.
