Review of Dog Bite Dog (2006) by Sofia B — 09 Apr 2008
An ill-treated young man is sent out to act assassin but becomes the prey for the most sadistic cop in Hong Kong, a cop that just doesn't give up until he's caught what he wants.
Disturbing, brutal, unrealistic, erratic, I couldn't really pinpoint where the whole thing went wrong but I'm guessing it was somewhere around the part when the main character got smashed over the head with a stone without going "offline" for a minute. I don't think that even the writers of this thing knew where they wanted it to end up. It goes from brutal, to really brutal but then suddenly it changes completely and you get some lovey-dovey moments only to go back to brutal by the end.
I liked the assassin character but that's mainly because I saw a whipped puppy where they wanted to have a brute, the cop had his moments too but didn't keep his the characteristics I appreciated further into the movie.
No, see Danny the Dog instead, much better in all ways.
