Review of Doctor Zhivago (1965) by Simeon D — 16 Aug 2010
Unnecessarily long, without a firm plot or point, narratively unfocused, and lacking characters, this Russian Revolution epic is certainly not David Lean's best, but it can be listed among his many achievements such as Lawrence of Arabia and The Bridge On The River Kwai.
Despite the screenwriting flaws vivid landscapes and great performances from Rod Steiger and Julie Christie make this a masterpiece. 83/100.
