Review of Doctor Zhivago (1965) by Dina H — 19 Sep 2008
The term "sweeping epic" applies. So far I love every David Lean film I've seen so far. How does he do it? He has perfect timing, an understanding of human rythms.
Doctor Zhivago plays out like something Tolstoy would have written. So much human tragedy...u cling to those moments of love like a life raft. it hits so many notes of human experience. makes u feel amazed to be alive. like the doctor, there is no reason to be sad no matter what happens. there is beauty in everything.
