Review of Doctor Zhivago (1965) by Michael T — 18 May 2016
Doctor Zhivago is weaker in its storytelling and character development, but it is strong in its technical aspects. The characters and the romance are never as memorable or as well developed as they should have been, but the cinematography is gorgeous, the score is absolutely fantastic, the direction is excellent and the film has such a brilliant art direction that is one of the best ever in film history.
But because of its flaws on those other areas, it ends up being just good and never as great as it could have been.
