Review of Doctor Zhivago (1965) by Josh C — 30 Dec 2008
A classic love story set in a historical epic set primarily during the interwar period and revolution of 1910s-30s Russia. The cinemetography and music is beautiful that is matched by wonderful performances highlighted by Omar Sharif as Zhivago and Alec Guinness as the narrator and Zhivago's half brother.
Julie Christie matches her male counterpart in a fine performance as Lara. The lenght of this movie is the one set back. Not all three hour movies feel long; but Zhivago feels every bit of its lenght.
Make sure you clear your afternoon schedule.
