Review of Doctor Zhivago (1965) by Matt R — 23 Feb 2009
David Lean is my personal favourite director, and although Zhivago is not my favourite Lean film, it is one that I have rewatched many times. Lean's lush, romantic, but mixed with a realistic style sweeps the viewer off his/her feet and sustains their attention for over three hours.
The cast are terrific as are the cinematography, direction and of course music. It may have been panned by the critics, but the film deservedly has a place in the hearts of many.
