Review of Doctor Zhivago (1965) by Sarah G — 11 Sep 2008
I wouldn't classify this as a love story. At least not an epic one. Yuri and Lara's 'love' seemed to come from nowhere and yet it was this great thing that lasted decades and cost two kids their father.
Yay, gotta love love. I though Yuri and Tonya had much more going for them. But that is all besides the point because the film was still excellent. I just don't agree with the classification. The acting was wonderful (except Guinness is forever Obi Wan in my mind but that's not his fault).
It is rather lengthy but I wouldn't say that it is every actually slow. Definitely worth watching once.
