Review of DOA: Dead or Alive (2006) by Allan C — 22 Jul 2010
Probably the best video game adaptation out there, which isn't saying much, and is also probably the best film Paul WS Anderson has been involved in, which also isn't saying much. Hong Kong filmmaker Corey Yuen directs, who's best known in the US for doing the fight choreography for Jet Li and the "Transporter" films, and he delivers a number of wirework fight scenes worthy of his best Hong Kong work.
The story is utterly dumb and merely an excuse for lots of fight and lots of bikinis, but if you want to some good HK style kung-fu, this film is well worth checking out.
