Review of DOA: Dead or Alive (2006) by Anssi V — 10 Oct 2011

A bad action movie. It is overly sexist, its plot makes no sense and it has no acting talent at all. That said, it has some nice action scenes, the female actors are a delight to look at and the scenery is nice.

So it wasn't a total failure, but it could have been a lot better with very little effort. Just removing the stupid sound effects that ruined almost all of the fight scenes would have made the movie a lot less obnoxious.

Still, I cannot say that I hate this film. I can recognize that it's a bad movie, but it was still enjoyable to watch, even if the reasons for that played to the lowest common denominator. Still, this is a stupid, stupid martial arts/action movie.

If those are your guilty pleasure, you'll probably at least like this one. If not, stay the hell away.
