Gripping. A film built around the constant heat and the collison of diverse communities. Instead of the community services (police, firemen) fighting for the community, they fought against it in the end.
The fight over hate is fought with hate, and therefore, no one wins except the lesson itself: the picture of Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X placed on the wall of Sal's burnt-down pizzeria says it all; can the same goal be reached with two opposing methods? This IS brilliant cinema.
