Review of Do the Right Thing (1989) by Robin W — 11 Nov 2013
I rearly see stories that float so well. A film bound together in a great way and the characters are as good as they are many. Cool music, cool scenes and amazing casting in this film. The Mookie character is acted out by Spike himself, that is pretty cool. Samuel L. Jackson as a DJ is also a worthy character. Several other big names are involved here, many of them early on in their careers.
It starts of light and are constantly evolving, it works darn smooth since it's superbly written and there are no down points here. Entertaining, interesting and very powerful. The theme with people and different races seem to to be a sure winner. A big film that still continues to grow, it was probably not as interesting or fascinating in 1989, maybe it was a bit more relevant, but it still is today. I guess it will continue to climb the ladder of important and good films. Highly debateable film with loads of details and character characteristics with a complete wrap up.
8.5 out of 10 doctors.
