Django Unchained stars Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz and Leonardo DiCaprio, and it is directed by the one and only Quentin Tarantino. Not to mention that this is his first western flick. It takes place in the early 1900s and is about a slave played by Jamie Foxx who makes a deal with Dr.

King Schultz (Christoph Waltz) to help him find a group of people and to find his wife. Django Unchained blew me away in every way possible. It was extremely well written, (Obviously. It's Tarantino) well acted, It looked beautiful and the direction was out-standing.

I could not find a single thing that I disliked! Everything was perfect! It's hard to determine the genera. It's mostly a movie about slavery, but it has the setting of a western. I guess that it could be considered a southwestern movie :) The two main protagonists have good chemistry.

One is a slave who will do anything to get his wife back. The other is a man who cares for him and just needs his help. Watching these characters grow together as a team was quite an experience. Especially because Django is a slave, and back then, it was unusual to treat a slave with kindness.

The antagonist that we are introduced to is Calvin Candie. (Leo's role) He is a very successful slave owner and has a large cotton plantation. He pulls off a fantastic performance. There is one scene when he smashes a glass on a table and he actually starts bleeding on set, but he continues to compose good acting.

The character himself was a very unlikable character in all of the right reasons. I absolutely loved this villain.
