Review of Django (1966) by Andrew G — 20 Mar 2012
The Operatic tones of this film were too heavy at times - and all the characters were excruciatingly shallow. Django feels like its trying to be something its not - playing off the success of more notable spaghetti westerns such as Leone's Fistful of Dollars - and in that respect the film is completely void of an identity.
If this film is considered one of the most widely imitated spaghetti western, it doesn't speak well for the genre as a whole.
