Review of Dixie Chicks: Shut Up and Sing (2006) by Emitt B — 14 Aug 2007
Poigniant rockumentary that exposes the Dixie Chicks as the wonderfully talented stick-to-your guns kind of strong women that they are. A flippant rermark causes trouble for the gilrs who are quickly villified and unfairly abandoned by their fan base.
In the blaze of the firestorm the Chicks sparkle. Through babies, concerts and death threats these three women display personal intergrity, a strong sense of sisterhood and the conviction to hold onto their beliefs.
Their music is featured through out the film shocasing their talent and pairing perfectly with the action. I would recommend both the album and the movie as both are moving and well done.
