Review of Divergent (2014) by Matthew T — 15 Feb 2015

To most people this movie has very strong connection with the hunger games, in my regard kind of as in not really no way there is absolute no resemblance at all and that's how I'm gonna stick to this movie. Judging by that statement yes I strongly dislike this its like one 2014 worst movies ever, for your information information I have not read the book nor will I ever cause I'm reviewing this as a movie. I know a lot of you love this movie because even the web site says 70% people loved this and might get their toes stomped on but here comes the pain.

first the story to start it off is pretty simple an apocalyptic world ravaged by a civil war that resulted in creating 5 factions which I only know two Gauntlets, and factionless (say it I suck). and then on an crammed rushed mashed together story. its a mess from the beginning you can figure out whats going but as things progress its really rushed, I guess you can their trying to put in whole book but in that regard can also blast it in the ass (excuse the language), but yeah that would happen because it ends rushing important stuff that should be taken the time and explained like what makes a person a divergent, when did it start, how do you become one and not only that but it also forces in the moral and character development.

leading to another thing I would like to point out out THE CHARACTERS SUCK! (except four) everyone else is a bland cliched emotionless asshole (excuse my language again). their horrible actors they do not show any emotion and when they do it goes back to bland emotionless expressions or just are annoying jerk offs for no reason Remember that that guy in the gauntlets that kept spewing out annoying put downs because he is from some honest faction line yeah guess what cliche character he is its so predictable. if you say their like this because of some apocalyptic Bull snot then screw you because even in apocalyptic worlds their is character development and its pretty damn good example would be hunger games we know why president snow white (yes I'm calling him snow white) was getting extreme with power and were shown what developed it even Godzilla 2014 had this down just as well but there is none in this film because it is rushed and shoved down your throat God dang it man I need to breath.

finally the moral the theme of this movie is complete garbage. Don't get me wrong its pretty interesting theme the freedom of choice is also a fear sounds pretty promising but again its rushed there is development because let me tell you something to make a good story not only do you need a good moral but characters to support that because that's what a story does they intertwined with each for the characters support theme the theme for it comes from whether opposite or the same side because that creates conflict which is another essential need and that should have been the focus the conflict between whether a divergent or having multiple skills and the freedom of choice is a good thing or a bad thing. but its not just focusing on the hot bland hero trying take down the evil corporation or government that is threatening citizens for some blah blah reason that is cliched as time its self good lord I hate this flick.

that is why divergent not only sucks but has nothing to with the hunger games. Hunger games is in another preference that takes from different stand point setting, theme, and is a lot more paced and not rushing through trying shove everything at once which in return suffocates you to death. their are some thing I like as in Four is literally the only decent character and theme does have a strong interest value but its cliched, predictable, annoyingly bland, rush mashed movie that you don't give a care about.
