Review of Divergent (2014) by Brandon W — 14 Mar 2016
The film might not be extremely popular as compared to other hot young adult adaptation franchise, but the familiar formula used in the screenplay, the trick manipulated by the director, Neil Burger for minimizing the loving part have overall made this science fiction fantasy an amazing and worth adventure.
Running for an approximately 139 minutes, it begins with a nice presentation of narrating the basic of the story, progresses into unexpectedly not draggy story line which is not overshadowed with love scenes and ends in an overall good way which opens for the upcoming sequel.
The scores, composed by Junkie XL, produced by Hans Zimmer are surprisingly good, youthful and suit the film well. The performance of Theo James and Shailene Woodléy made a perfect chemistry couple, of course, the film is also balanced out by amazing contribution from Maggie Q, Kate Winslet and Jai Courtney.
It is the greatest YA adaptation after Harry Potter and The Hunger Games.
