Definitely gory, and at times laughable, but "District 9" is a unique character driven story that delivers great performance by the main cast and nice direction by Blomkamp. It's amazing how a low budget film like this becomes highly powerful and original.
A great piece of work and nice addition to the sci-fi genre.
