Review of Disobedience (2018) by Maria F. M — 29 May 2018

Jesu saw it again! This is a beautiful, thought-provoking and deeply moving film. Rachel Mcadams, Rachel Weisz and Alessandro Nivola's performances are gripping and come together like the pieces of the perfect puzzle.

Mcadams delivers a particularly beautiful and heartfelt performance. I loved the film's respectful and yet passionate take on sexuality, faith, love, friendship, and community. To me this movie is about coming to terms with who we are, what we believe in, what we feel passionate about, and ultimately, choosing a way of life that is true to who we want to be.

I can't think of anything more universal than that. It definitely spoke deeply to my heart. I loved the film score (shofar!), cinematography (that final take!) and of course, the chemistry and tension between the Rachels.

SO intense.
