Review of Disgrace (2008) by Judith W — 17 Jan 2011
This has a 2.8 average on Netflix, Ebert gave it 4 stars and I hated it no matter what he says. One of those movies where everything is an overplayed metaphor. Yes, life in South Africa has changed. The oppressors are now the oppressed.
Got it. Sex and violence are sometimes one and the same: Got it. But the worse for me was the "men as dogs" allegory as an excuse for horrible mistreatment of dogs all through the movie.
