Review of Disco Pigs (2001) by Christina C — 25 Nov 2012
Saw this film last night, after reading alot of mixed reviews. It seems that audiences and professional critics are at complete odds on this film, as I cannot find one really positive professional critic's review of this film, though many audience members give it glowing recommendations.
And that's just what this film deserves in my opinion. I'm not going to explain the plot line, because honestly, I wouldn't even know where to begin and if I did, it would be very hard for me not to give anything away.
Suffice it to say that this story is a complex one, and those who are unwilling, or find it difficult to acclimate themselves with strong accents are adivised to put their subtitles on. The language of the two main protaganists is difficult to understand.
However, if you feel that you can untangle through the linguistic brambles, your reward will be a very tragic but very beautiful story about a part of the human experience that really anyone an identify with.
..life.
