Review of Dirty Wars (2013) by Jonathan B — 23 Jan 2014
Terrible. The subject matter should be shocking, but it's kind of not. Perhaps because the reporter seems to want to be the star of the film. Between his studied Jordan Catalano stare which seems to be his response to everything to shots of him wearing sunglasses (hardly necessary when he's driving in the rain) it all just reeks of self promotion and.
..something. I suppose all the shots of adorable children with large eyes were added to add some emotional core to the film. I just kept waiting for a song by the National to start playing at some point.
