Review of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988) by Shawn W — 14 Aug 2008
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is a prime example of how funny Steve Martin used to be. A lot of people would argue that he stopped being funny when he started making family movies, much like Eddie Murphy. However Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is a family movie.
Itâ??s just very well written and is a very cool movie. Michael Caine and Steve Martin play off each other brilliantly and create a real sense of competition and hated between the characters. Frank Oz is on top form here and its movies like this that make me forget he ever came near The Stepford Wives remake.
