Review of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988) by Jacob B — 19 May 2017
Meh, I don't quite like Dirty Rotten Scoudrels as much as other people. Some chemistry between Michael Caine and Steve Martin, okay. Remaining at ease whenever Steve Martin is onscreen, sure. A few jokes that I actually laughed at, fine by me.
But for me, it wasn't truly amusing. The story never really took off IMO. I felt like the whole con artists - please excuse me for this - con-cept never explored the possibilties with its premise.
I personally didn't really care about the sudden plot twist. It'll serve fans of Caine and/or Martin's well but sadly I am not one of them.
