Review of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988) by Mark N — 06 Apr 2012
Caine and Martin are so perfectly cast it just took a winning script to make a hugely entertaining comedy. It speaks volumes that Martin's idiotic alter-ego is so funny without devolving into childishness.
It's this kind of comedy that the world of movies lacks to day, a deftness of touch can raise the bar and childlike comedy, when executed with sophistication, can be a non mean-spirited delight.
