Review of Dirty Pretty Things (2002) by Helio A — 13 Aug 2007
This is an incredible movie about the invisable people of London: asylum seekers, refugees, fugitives, and hookers. Ejiofor plays a Nigerian pathogist framed in his own country for his wife's murder.
Forced to flee, he winds up in London driving a cab during the day and working as a night receptionist in a dodgy love hotel, who uncovers an illegal trade in fake passports and human organs. Strong performances all round, and should be made mandatory viewing for everyone who reads the Murdoch tabloids in my country.
