The movie takes one into the depraved world of illegal immigrants in London. A look at the hellish system that surrounds these foreigners and refugees, filled with exploitation from both the legal and the not-so-legal sources, forms the backbone of this story.

The script was tight and there was never a slow moment. The scenes piece together fluidly, and I especially liked the climax. It was unexpected and original. There was this one scene where the photography captured the hastily put together tenements for refugees and immigrants alongside the more posh urban sprawl -- I found it extremely effective and telling of the overall theme of the movie.

Chiwetel Ejiofor gives a strong performance; there is no mistaking the various dilemma he goes through as he tries keeping his integrity in the pressure of survival. Audrey Tautou plays a very convincing refugee -- she has the correct blend of innocence and desperation.
