Review of Dinosaur (2000) by Hazzagalla — 19 Apr 2017
Along with Jurassic Park, it's incredible to believe that 'Dinosaur' also helped break new ground in terms of visual effects and blending practical environments. The film looks absolutely stunning for a movie that was released in 2000.
The environments feel real, the sound design is fantastic and the musical score is beautifully done. While the film's story may not be the strongest, the characters that populate it are likeable enough and their motivations are clear, the voice cast it also pretty great.
Another slight disadvantage is it's runtime, the film could have benefited from being a bit longer to help build a stronger story. Despite these two problems along with some minor inconsistencies, ultimately 'Dinosaur' still feels like a solidly made film in all other aspects.
