Review of Dinner for Schmucks (2010) by Elias J — 01 Jun 2012
We all know that Paul Rudd is THE straight man in comedy, and his performance alone made my spending worthwhile. Carell, while playing a tough role, pulls it off astonishingly well. It seems "The Office" really honed his deadpan comedy.
The movie works for me, and I was reminded of older comedies such as Laurel and Hardy classics. The Schmucks in this film could and sometimes should be laughed at, but it's how the great actors respond in this flick that produces the jollies.
