Review of Diner (1982) by Amanda C — 14 Sep 2007
For all of its casual humor and skillful film-making, as a woman, this film scared me to death. The misogyny of the main characters is intended to be overblown and comical, but it really isn't in the end. Levinson makes a few choices regarding the women in the film that are neither comical nor comforting.
Like I said, it was strictly this that affected my enjoyment, other than that, the film was skillfully done for a comedy.
