Review of Diner (1982) by Eric R — 05 Jul 2009
A coming-of-age film about 6 20-something guys in Baltimore whom are headed towares adulthood. The cast for this film is really great, with Mickey Rourke, Kevin Bacon and Steve Guttenberg being the standouts for me.
The dialogue is extremely witty and fresh even by today's standards and the 50's scene is a great backdrop. This film really personifies Baltimore int he 50's but at the same time it personifies the idea of adulthood and responsibility.
Thsi film is comedic and dramatic. Its just an excellent ensemble piece that really doesn't get the credit it deserves.
