My favourite negative human trait is vanity, which every single one of Timoner's subjects seems to carry in bucketloads. Whilst their modes of thought and idiocies are painfully exposed with not a jot of self-awareness, this film also does a good job of severing the American rock and roll dream into a thousand pieces.
