Review of Die Hard: With a Vengeance (1995) by Tony P — 08 Jan 2014
Bruce Willis returns as his most famous movie alter ego John McClane. The washed up battle wearly NYPD detective. Here this adventure is set in a pre 9-11 New York City.
McClane is aided by Samuel L. Jackson as Zeus Carver as he races across New York to solve the never ending problems purposely set by Jeremy Irons as Simon Gruber. Gruber is the younger brother of Hans Gruber from Die Hard.
I rate this instalment as better than Die Hard 2, 4.0 and Good Day To Die Hard.
Jackson adds comedy value to the guns and braun of Willis.
The movie is somehow nearly 20 years old as of writing. Willis still has the last streaks of head hair!
My only criticism of the movie is perhaps the final quarter which seems to veer off at a tangent.
McClanes colleagues at the NYPD precinct also lack the like ability of the LAPD guy in Die Hard 1 & 2 (Al?).
