Review of Die Hard: With a Vengeance (1995) by Ash-Lord — 06 Oct 2013
I'm a huge fan of Die Hard, and since everyone has been singing praise over this film, I was excited to check it out, and let me tell ya, I LOVED it. The acting is top notch from Willis and Samuel L. Jackson. The story is brisk and suspenseful, and the villain is awesome, even if his motives got a little confusing towards the end. The action was on par with Die Hard and even exceeded it in some areas. The music was standard action movie music, nothing special, but then again the Die Hard series has never been known for having an catchy themes. The direction is clear and confident. The writing is excellent as well. And the editing was one thing that surprised me about the film, it was fantastic. Seriously, this film is very stylish for a Die Hard movie. This film is a great improvement over the sub-par Die Hard 2 and is my second favorite Die Hard movie. Yippee-ki-yay, indeed.
Overall: A brisk and fun action film that is also clever and well written.
Final Score: 8.5/10.
