Review of Die Hard 2 (1990) by Seth S — 27 Aug 2012
Die Hard 2 does have the action and the performance by Bruce Willis, but the story treads ground that is too familiar. There's that, 'now how can the same thing happen to the same guy twice?' moment. While the story might not add anything new, the action does make it worth your time.
The sequel finds John McClane waiting in an airport to pick up his wife. Baddies take over the airport, and McClane goes rogue again. The movie speeds along from there, finishing off with McClane having to bring a passenger jet safely to the ground.
Bruce Willis picks up where he left off in Die Hard. More great action from him, and he plays the wise-cracking McClane spot on. Everyone else in the movie fills their spot, with no one really standing out.
Overall, the movie is a bit long, and has one too many action scenes, at over 2 hours. The story doesn't bring anything new to the table, but the action is well done. Even with it's flaws, the movie is just flat out entertaining.
"You are just in the wrong place, at the wrong time...Story of my life." 6.5/10.
